The Key – 24th March 2014

This week

On Monday 24th March our Guest Speaker is Susie Bajracharya from Nepal. Susie will tell us about how and why she came to Australia and how she and her husband have settled into Aussie life. We will meet in the Soccer Club Boardroom.

Last week

Last Monday night a great deal was learnt about the operations of the volunteer Rural Fire Service (RFS) when several members of the Gungahlin team gave us an extensive tour of their operations at the Joint Emergency Service Centre.

Members, partners and friends of our Club enjoyed the opportunity to ask so many questions about the training and work of these terrific volunteers and to take the opportunity to climb into the fire-fighting trucks to see how it all works. It was a pleasure to have Monica Garrett, District Governor Nominee, and Graeme Kinraid, Assistant Governor, and his son David, join us for the tour and dinner afterwards.

Invitations in our region include:

7.30pm Friday 4th, & 2pm & 7.30pm Saturday 5th April, Shen Yun

The world’s No. 1 classic Chinese dance and music show, comes to Canberra in April for the eighth year. Member Holly Wei is happy to organise tickets for the three shows.

Tuesday 15th April Ginninderra Rotary Club dinner to Hear Minister Simon Corbell

Hear Mr Corbell speak on his vision for Belconnen Precinct in 2030, although no doubt he will be happy to answer questions on most subjects within his Portfolio. This is a partner’s night.
